Michal Sheffer, Ph.D.

Dr. Michal Sheffer is a postdoctoral fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  Michal’s research focuses on the interaction between natural killer (NK) cells, a type of immune cells, with tumor cells. In her work, Michal develops engineered NK cells for cancer immunotherapy, and studies molecular mechanisms that lead to NK-immune evasion.  Michal received her PhD in computational biology from the Weizmann Institute where she worked at the lab of Prof. Eytan Domany on copy number alterations in colorectal cancer. In her under graduate studies she majored in computer science, buisness and biology at Tel Aviv University. In addition, Michal acquired extensive experience as a software engineer in various platforms, while working in a few high-tech companies prior to her graduate studies.
