The Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University is recruiting candidates

for tenure-track senior academic positions

Start Date: October 1, 2025

 

Join a young and dynamic faculty (most of our current members have joined over the past 10 years!) at the forefront of research. The Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University invites applications from outstanding candidates with a proven track record in research, a strong foundation in their field, creativity, and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of researchers.

 

The successful candidates will establish independent research groups, supervise graduate students, and contribute to teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.

We are accepting applications in ALL areas of modern biology, as reflected on the faculty website. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

 

1. Tissue Engineering, Synthetic Biology, Proteomics, and Protein Engineering

2. Sustainability – Food Tech, Biomaterials, Plant Sciences, Marine Sciences, Ecology, Animal Behavior, and Biodiversity

3. Visual Sciences

4. Computational Biology – Candidates with a strong background in computational biology and computer science may apply for a joint appointment with the Department of Computer Science.

 

Job Requirements:

1. A PhD in Life Sciences (mandatory).

2. Proven excellence in postdoctoral research and an outstanding publication record.

3. A commitment to teaching graduate students and supervising research.

4. A well-developed, engaging research program.

1. CV and publication list (no specific format required, but copies of key articles are encouraged).

2. A summary of achievements to date and a detailed research plan for the coming years (3-4 pages).

3. Three letters of recommendation, ideally including one from your doctoral advisor and one from your postdoctoral supervisor. These letters should specifically address your suitability for the position of Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor in the U.S.).

4. Profile picture (optional, but encouraged).

 

Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by a faculty search committee. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to give a lecture (followed by a chalk-talk) and meet with faculty members. Lectures typically take place between December and February, but applications are accepted year-round.
