Researcher in Middle Eastern Studies – Tenure Track Position

The Department of Middle Eastern Studies at Ariel University invites applications from outstanding researchers for a tenure-track position. The position is to commence in October 2025.

We seek excellent candidates that can complement the strengths of our department. The call is open to candidates in all areas and sub-fields of Middle Eastern Studies.

Candidates should have a strong command of Middle Eastern topics, including history, religion, society, culture, leadership, and the military. They must also be capable of conducting research and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as mentoring students. Both junior and senior scholars are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must possess a Doctoral degree, followed by a Postdoctoral fellowship from a university outside of Israel.

Applicants should submit:

·         A curriculum vitae with a list of publications (see guidelines).

·         A letter of intent stating willingness to begin teaching starting October 2025.

·         A scientific biography outlining research orientation and future plans.

·         A teaching statement including a list of proposed mandatory and elective courses.

·         Copies of up to 3 recent publications (or conference papers).

·         Three letters of recommendation.

Interested candidates should send all documents no later than May 15, 2025.

·         The availability of positions and final acceptance are subject to university’s approval.

·         The academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and achievements.

·         Employment terms and salaries will be according to academic salary scales for universities in Israel as determined by CHE regulations.
