We are looking for a highly motivated and independent PhD to develop experimental cell and gene therapies for patients in clinical trials. You will work with viral vectors, CRISPR-based gene editing, and advanced cell therapy manufacturing equipment. Cell culture experience from a research, biotech, or pharma laboratory is required. A background in immunology is highly desirable.

Specific tasks include isolation and culture of primary hematopoietic cells, molecular biology, and flow cytometry. This work may lead to publications in scientific journals and will support clinical trials for treatment of patients with cancer and other types of disease.

Sheba Medical Center in collaboration with Bar Ilan University is developing and manufacturing new cell and gene therapies for patients with serious diseases. Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Isolation and manipulation of primary human T cells in culture

• Development of both viral and non-viral (CRISPR-based) techniques for genetic manipulation of cells

• Development of analytic assays to characterize effector T cell function

• Proof of concept studies for novel T cell based therapies in both in vitro and in vivo systems

Qualifications:

· PhD degree in biological sciences or chemistry or relevant experience in pharma or medical device companies

Required experience/knowledge:

· At least 3 years of hands-on experience doing cell culture under aseptic conditions

· Must have relevant experience in at least one of the following fields: immunology, cell therapy, GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing, or CRISPR

· Meticulous attention to details and accuracy

· Organized and responsible

· Teamwork skills

· Reading and writing skills in Hebrew and English
