Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences is recruiting a Director of the MRI Neuroimaging Unit

The MRI Neuroimaging Unit at the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences (ENU) was established in 2012 and operates the SIEMENS SKTRA 3T MRI magnetic imaging scanner for conducting advanced research in brain sciences.

Job description:
·         Management of the MRI unit, including the MRI scanner and auxiliary equipment
·         Provide guidance and assistance to the brain researchers’ community, at the Hebrew University and researchers from other institutions, in designing and conducting research and using the MRI scanner.
·         Budget and costumer’s management.
·         Ongoing maintenance of the MRI scanner including quality control with the manufacturer and service provider (the SIEMENS company).
·         Implement upgrades and new sequences as needed. Optimize existing sequences. Develop and advance MRI compatible peripheral equipment.
·         Develop the MRI community by hosting conferences, courses and additional academic activities.
·         Collaboration with researchers/other institutes to ensure that the MRI unit remains at the forefront of science.
·         Supervision over safety and user training
·         Supervision over Ethical procedures and regulations.

Subordination: Executive Director of the Center for Brain Sciences and the Academic Director of the Neuroimaging Unit.

Job requirements:
·         PhD in natural sciences / medical sciences / brain sciences / physics / computer sciences or related fields.
·         Knowledge and experience in usage or development of MRI, including and especially functional MRI methodology.
·         Interest in the advancement of brain research and brain imaging.
·         Experience in instruction and training in advanced technological systems in research, an advantage.
·         Managerial experience in medical systems, hi-tech or biotech, an advantage.
·         Fluent Hebrew and English, written and spoken communication
·         Ability to manage staff, teamwork and good interpersonal skills

·         Willing to work , if needed, beyond work hours for repair and maintenance of the scanner and the facility.

Position is Full-Time

Comments:
·         Employment is by a temporary / contract / academic appointment, in accordance with the applicant’s skills.
·         The selected applicant will be required to complete a training process according to the requirements of the company that provided the system
·         Applicants will be required to pass an English exam at the level required.
·         Possibility of conducting independent research.
