Joint Postdoc at the Broad Institute (Cambridge, USA) and the Weizmann Institute (Rehovot, Israel)


The group of Prof. Aviv Regev at the Broad and Prof Yonina Eldar Eldar at Weizmann are seeking a creative and highly-motivated postdoctoral associate to spearhead a new collaboration between the two groups in the area of machine learning/signal processing for imaging transcriptomics. In particular, we seek to develop machine learning and signal processing-based approaches to extract orders of magnitude more information from imaging transcriptomics measurements being generated at the Broad Institute. The resulting tools and insights will play a transformative role in the Human Cell Atlas project.


The Regev lab is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary group that develops the experimental technologies, computational algorithms, and analytics to decipher the transcriptional circuits that control gene expression and cell phenotype within cells and tissues. The Eldar lab specializes in the development of signal processing and machine learning methods and hardware for efficient capture and recovery of structured signals.


The candidate will regularly interact with experimental and computational scientists in the Broad Institute in Cambridge and with computational scientists in the Weizmann in Israel, but will be able to spend time in both locations, accommodating their individual circumstances, and benefitting from both environments.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, signal processing, and/or computational biology and will have made significant contributions to their area of study as evidenced by a strong publication record in internationally-recognized, peer-reviewed journals. Interested candidates should send a CV, references and cover letter to both and
