Senior Scientist – Computational Genomics & Data Science

An established and fast-growing company in the consumer genomics and digital health domain is looking for a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join its cutting-edge R&D group.

In this role, you’ll take part in the development of advanced tools and algorithms that analyze large-scale genetic datasets and translate complex biological data into real-world insights for millions of users.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of scientific features—from ideation and research through algorithm design and implementation.

  • Work with massive-scale genetic and phenotypic datasets, combining approaches from bioinformatics, population/statistical genetics, and machine learning.

  • Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to integrate scientific solutions into production-grade systems.

  • Stay updated on scientific literature and transform emerging research into scalable, user-facing products.

  • Communicate scientific progress clearly across teams and stakeholders.


Requirements

  • PhD (preferred) or advanced degree in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of industry or postdoctoral experience.

  • Proven experience in:

    • Statistical or population genetics

    • Analysis of genotyping/sequencing data

    • Genomic pipelines and bioinformatics workflows

    • Applying ML/statistical models to biological data

  • Strong coding skills in Python or R.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing (e.g., AWS), workflow tools (e.g., Snakemake, Airflow), and parallel computing environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
