Postdoctoral/Research Associate Position
The Levi Lab and the Dror Lab at Tel-Hai University are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher or research associate to join a new joint research project at the interface of fungal pathogenesis and host defense genomic regulation.
Project overview:
This project aims to mechanistically dissect RNA-based regulatory mechanisms that govern fungal adaptation and host responses to infection.
Scientific Focus:
• RNA-mediated regulation, including non-coding RNAs and RNA-binding proteins.
• Fungal adaptation strategies under host immune pressure.
• Host regulatory responses to infection, from transcription to protein networks.
• Sex differences in host responses.
Research Approach:
• High-throughput functional genomics to dissect regulatory mechanisms in host–pathogen interactions.
• Transcriptomics (bulk, time-course, and single-cell RNA-seq) to profile infection-induced regulatory dynamics.
• RNA-binding protein interactions and RNA-mediated regulatory networks (RNA interactome capture, RNA immunoprecipitation).
• Chromatin and accessibility assays (ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN/CUT&Tag, ATAC-seq) to link RNA regulation with chromatin state.
• Quantitative infection and phenotyping assays under host immune pressure.
• Genetic perturbation strategies (e.g., CRISPR-based approaches).
• Microscopy-based assays (smFISH, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy).
Candidate profile:
• PhD in biology, genomics, microbiology, immunology, or a related field.
• Experience in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and/or CRISPR-based approaches.
• Curiosity, independence, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research focus on RNA-proteins interaction during infection.
