Ronen did his undergraduate and PhD studies in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem under the supervision of Prof. Raz Yirmiya in collaboration with the lab of Prof. Adi Mizrahi, and moved in June 2018 for his postdoctoral studies in UCLA - joining the lab of Prof. Peyman Golshani at the Neurology Department. His research focuses on how neuronal activity dynamically change in order to imprint learning of navigation to a goal in space, and studies it specifically in the hippocampus a brain region important for spatial navigation. Dr. Reshef was born and raised in Kfar-Saba, Israel. He, his wife Danielle, and their son Gido’n live together with their pet dog Bella. In their spare time, they like to travel in nature and in the city to learn more about their current geographical location.
