Uri Weill, Ph.D.

Uri is a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Multidisciplinary Sciences in Göttingen, Germany, working in the group of Dr. Jochen Rink. He is studding full body regeneration and tissue dynamics in planarian flatworms, and is developing new transgenic tools in these worms.

He received a B.Sc. in marine biotechnology from the Ruppin Academic Center. Uri did his M.Sc. and Ph.D in biology at the Weizmann institute of Science in the lab of Prof. Maya Schuldiner where he constructed a genome-wide yeast strain collection to investigate the cellular location and function of proteins. Uri lives in Göttingen with his wife, 2 children and 3 dogs and they all love to take walks in the woods in and around Göttingen.
