Vered Shacham-Silverberg, Ph.D.

Vered is a postdoc research fellow in the division of Developmental Biology and the Center of Stem Cell and Organoid Medicine (CuSTOM) in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Vered received herBSc from Tel Aviv university and her MSc and PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science, under the supervision of Prof. Avraham Yaron. In Cincinnati, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Jim Wells, Vered is developing new and complex hPSC-derived 3D esophageal cultures and using them to investigate esophagus development, congenital defects and disease. Vered is also interested in outreach, education and science communication. Vered lives with her husband and her baby boy and enjoys the calm, relaxing life of the Midwest suburbs.
