Estherina is finishing her PhD at the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University, where she studied how the social environment influences the immune system through brain mechanisms in rats. She moved to Cambridge with her husband and will begin her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cambridge’s Brain Sciences Unit in Prof. Duncan Astle’s lab, where she will continue studying social connectedness and its impact on health, cognition, and associated brain networks.
Estherina is a social activist, volunteering in various organizations. She was one of the first activists in the ‘Out for Change’ organization and remains involved as a committee member, mentor, and researcher.
