Rappaport Faculty of Medicine and Technion Integrated Cancer Center (R-TICC) – Call for Faculty Positions

Technion טכניון

An opportunity is at hand. These are not regular days for the State of Israel, the Jewish people, and the civilized world at large, yet, through the fog we see a great prospect for researchers to come, settle, and work in Israel.  We, at the Rappaport-Technion Integrated Cancer Center (R-TICC) and  the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, a world-renowned technological university, have launched a groundbreaking, >US$100M initiative to combat cancer.

The R-TICC is a unique interdisciplinary cancer research center. Residing in a technological research university, the center fosters interdisciplinary research that combines and enables interaction between natural sciences (biomedicine, physics, and chemistry),  engineering, exact sciences, computer science, oncology, and clinical medicine. Our research covers a broad range of topics, from fundamental basic questions in cancer biology  to translational oncology research  all under the center’s umbrella.

We are currently recruiting talented and established faculty from all relevant disciplines who strive to make an impact on cancer research. We are offering positions at the ranks of assistant, associate, and full professor to brilliant cancer researchers who exhibit strong individual excellence and are good team players by nature.

The core of the R-TICC is physically located at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, but the center comprises over 70 laboratories that operate within various Technion faculties, the adjacent Rambam Health Care Campus, and its Joseph Fishman Oncology Center (the largest in Northern Israel), as well as oncology centers at other Technion-affiliated hospitals. The R-TICC is also associated with the Technion Human Health Initiative (THHI), which promotes interdisciplinary research related to the worlds of health and medicine. A building, dedicated to the R-TICC and physically attached to the Faculty of Medicine, adjacent to the Joseph Fishman Oncology Center, is currently under construction. The new building will include state-of-the-art research laboratories, a shared, interdisciplinary equipment department (imaging, genomics, metabolomics, histo- and molecular pathology, etc.), and a state-of-the-art vivarium.

Our culture is inclusive, collaborative, and egalitarian, as we strongly believe that such a creative environment is essential for transformative scientific discoveries.

We are accepting applications from talented researchers with excellent track records and a strong interest in cancer research in its broadest definition. Recruited faculty are expected to lead independent research groups and actively participate in teaching and mentoring. Joint appointment in other relevant Technion faculty(ies) is possible so as to foster intradisciplinary research.  A generous start-up package, advanced laboratory space, and cutting-edge infrastructure are an integral part of the recruitment plan.
