Rona Merdler-Rabinowicz, M.D.

Rona is a pediatrician with a deep interest in medical genetics and bioinformatics research. She graduated cum laude from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, where she received her B.Sc. and M.D. degrees. She then completed an internship and pediatric residency at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, Israel.

Rona is in the final stages of completing her Ph.D. in computational biology under the supervision of Prof. Erez Levanon from Bar-Ilan University and Prof. Eytan Ruppin at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH). She is presently a research fellow at the NCI in Bethesda, MD. Her research focuses on leveraging base-editing technologies to revert genetic mutations in inherited diseases and cancer.

Rona serves as the first manager of the ScienceAbroad community for Israeli medical doctors who are engaged in clinical or research fellowships abroad.
